1. Introduction 

ACF Trust (“Organisation”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a registered Indian Trust and committed to carrying out its stated objectives and activities. 

We value the trust and generosity of our donors and are committed to maintaining transparency and accountability in the receipt and utilisation of donations. 

This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing donations made to ACF Trust through its website, online payment gateways, bank transfers, UPI, or other authorised payment methods.  By , you agree to this policy.

2. Donation Cancellation 

1. One-time donations: A donation is treated as final once it has been made. It cannot be cancelled unless an error occurred in the transaction. Please see the section on “Refund Policy” below to see how you can apply for a refund, in the event it is needed. 

2. Recurring donations: You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by emailing development@acflegal.in. Please send your request at least 7 days before the next scheduled donation date so it can be processed in time. Donations already debited before cancellation takes effect are not refundable, except as described in Section 4.

3. Foreign contributions: ACF Trust does not hold registration or prior permission under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (“FCRA”) and is therefore not authorised to accept foreign contributions as defined under the Act.

Accordingly: 

a. ACF Trust accepts donations only from eligible Indian sources in accordance with applicable Indian laws. 

b. Donations from foreign citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), foreign companies, foreign organisations, or other foreign sources as defined under the FCRA shall not be accepted. 

c. Indian citizens residing abroad (NRIs) may make donations from their personal savings through normal banking channels, subject to verification of their Indian citizenship, the source of funds, and compliance with applicable laws. 

d. All donations shall be made in Indian Rupees (INR) through authorised payment channels. 

e. ACF Trust reserves the right to request additional information or documentation from donors to verify their identity, citizenship, source of funds, and eligibility to make donations. 

f. ACF Trust reserves the right to decline, withhold acceptance of, or initiate the return of any donation that may violate applicable laws or its internal compliance requirements.

4. Refund Policy 

1. Non-refundable donations: All donations are final and non-refundable. Exceptions apply only where a technical or processing error has caused a duplicate, excess, or unintended transaction. 

2. Refund conditions:  

   • Technical errors: We will issue a refund if a technical issue caused an unintended, duplicate, or incorrect transaction. 

   • Request timeline: Refund requests must reach us within 7 days of the donation date. 

   • Processing: Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days of approval. 

   • Mode of refund: Refunds are credited only to the original payment method used for the donation. The time the money takes to reach your account depends on your bank or payment provider. 

3. Failed transactions: If money is debited from your account but the donation is not confirmed, the amount is usually reversed automatically by the bank or payment gateway within 5–7 business days. If it is not reversed, please contact us at development@acflegal.in with your transaction details. 

4. Donation receipts: If a refund is issued, the donation receipt for that transaction is treated as cancelled. Donations to ACF Trust are not eligible for tax deduction under the Income-tax Act, 2025. 

5. How to request a refund: Email development@acflegal.in with:  

• the donation date, 

• the amount, 

• the transaction or reference ID, and 

• the reason for the request.

4. Donor Information and Privacy 

We use donors’ personal information only to process donations, issue receipts, and meet our legal and reporting obligations. For details, please see our Privacy Policy.

5. Changes to This Policy 

ACF Trust may update this Cancellation and Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
